Founded in 1979, Food Lifeline’s mission is to end hunger in Western Washington by engaging communities and mobilizing resources. We are your local member of Feeding America – the nation’s largest domestic anti-hunger organization. Together, we are committed to disrupting the food waste cycle and using our logistical capacity to connect nutritious food to people who need it. Last year, Food Lifeline distributed 45 million pounds of nutritious food to more than 275 local food banks and meal programs. In addition to food distribution, we engage and mobilize our community to become strong, vocal activists for smart solutions to the crisis of hunger. In addition, our advocacy work promotes both public policy and programs that move families out of poverty and solve food insecurity.
Please join the conversation—we look forward to learning your ideas as we sustainably deliver food to our most vulnerable neighbors!
Don’t forget to check out the other organizations who will be there: City Grown Seattle, Distributed Energy Management, Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition, Impact Bioenergy, Puget Soundkeeper, Seattle Farm Co-op, Tilth Alliance and Master Composter, and YMCA Earth Service Corps.
