Seattle Economic & Community Change Event
Don't miss out on the Tuesday (27th) event hosted by The Interra Project (www.interraproject.org) from 5:30pm – 8:00pm at the Seattle Glassblowing Studio (2227 5th Ave), just blocks from the National Main Street Conference.
Interra’s Executive Director Jon Ramer and Boston Main Street’s Program Manager Brian Goodman will discuss Boston Main Street’s newly launched “Boston Community Change” program (www.bostoncommunitychange.org), an initiative that gives people an incentive to “Shop Locally and Share Locally.” Come meet Jon and Brian and find out about the status of the Boston Community Change program, hear about Interra's plans for the Puget Sound, the Pacific Northwest, and learn how the Community Change program may contribute to your organization. The program recognizes and rewards cardholders for supporting local businesses, supports local nonprofits and schools and gives merchants a platform to administer powerful loyalty-based incentives and learn about their customers. In addition to a brief presentation, you can learn about glass art and experience live glassblowing. Join us for a fun evening of social networking, glass art and community change.
One of this year’s hottest events for community preservation and local economic revitalization is taking place here in Seattle! The 2007 National Main Streets Conference will take place on March 25-28 and brings together economic development and community revitalization practitioners from throughout the nation to share their expertise and proven strategies for building sustainable commercial districts. The 2007 conference theme, “Building a Sustainable Future,” focuses on the sustainability of both the revitalization organization and the community it serves. The Seattle-based Interra Project (www.interraproject.org) will co-lead a Tuesday afternoon session at 3:45pm entitled “Connecting Customer and Community: The Next Generation of Loyalty.”
