Thank you for making the 2012 Sustainability Leadership Awards a sold-out evening! On Thursday, November 5, 2012, we convened at our Sustainability Leadership Awards Dinner to honor the change agents of the Puget Sound region. We met, mingled and dined at Sustainable Seattle's annual fundraiser. And recognized community nominated businesses, organizations, and one exceptional individual for their leadership, innovation and commitments to sustainability. Check out photos from the evening here. Mayor Mike McGinn presented welcome remarks which you can view here and Chris Rogers, co-founder and CEO of Point32, was the Keynote speaker presenting “The Bullitt Center: The Greenest Commercial Building in the World”. Point32 is an award-winning Seattle-based real estate development company constructing The Bullitt Center, the world's most self-sufficient building to have net-zero energy use and 100% onsite renewable energy. This structure is the first to meet requirements of the Living Building Challenge -the strictest of all living building standards in the built environment- and it's happening right here in our city! Nine awards were given out for those doing outstanding work in sustainability during the 2011-2012 year. Awards winners, categories, nominees and judges are available here. Tickets were $75. Included cocktail hour with wine and beer, a fantastic salmon dinner, cooked atop an Alder wood fire! Visit our blog for more on the inspirational evening! Thank you for supporting us, let's continue to salute those Creating the Tools for Tomorrow! We hope you join us next year.
