Sustainable Seattle strives to get at the stories behind the data - peoples perceptions, opinions, and ideas for building stronger and healthier communities. The surveys help us further our understanding of what matters to citizens in their local communities.

With the support of The Seattle Foundation, Sustainable Seattle conducted 92 community interviews in our 10 partner neighborhoods to get at the stories behind the data—peoples perceptions, opinions, and ideas for building stronger and healthier communities. Neighborhood Quality of Life Intercept Surveys, April 2005
Students from the Community, Environment and Planning (CEP) program at the University of Washington designed an intercept survey that explores the perceptions of neighborhood residents about issues in their community. Such issues include environmental quality, safety and crime, access to services, vibrancy of their business district, and community involvement. Click here for more information in this research.
