South Seattle Community College to Host Advocacy Workshop
"How to Make a Difference in Your Community": This workshop is about how organizations such as PTAs, student groups, neighborhood associations, and nonprofits can protect after-school programs, oppose/support development projects, help pass legislation, and otherwise participate in the development of their communities.
Participants will learn how to make and execute blueprints for action, including getting media coverage, funding their work, finding volunteers, working with public officials, and negotiating with the "other side."
When: TWO-SESSION workshop is on Thursday, November 9 and Thursday, November 16, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Cost: $ 49
