Linda Park
Linda Park is a biochemist by training and spent 18 years (1984-2002) in the Discovery Research group at Immunex Corporation in Seattle. Linda's scientific career focused on human immune system research, and she was Director of the Biochemisty Department from 1990-2000. During her last three years at the company, Linda undertook the role of scientific representative and liaison for planning, design, and construction of the new Immunex Research and Development Center at Interbay, now home to Amgen Washington. In 2002, Linda retired from Immunex and founded the Seattle Biotech Legacy Foundation (SBLF) with a group of Immunex colleagues. Linda served the organization as President and Board Chair for its first 3 years and is now Board Co-chair. The mission of SBLF is to work toward a healthy, sustainable future by promoting science-based understanding, solutions, and actions that are grounded in recognition of the interconnected nature of our world. Linda also directs her time and scientific experience to other projects in the nonprofit and philanthropic arenas. Linda has a BS in Chemistry from Oregon State University, a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan, and did her postdoctoral Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
